Stylings of the day...

A maxi dress can go both ways, elegant and formal, or edgy and contemporary.  It all depends on what you pair it with.

If you're going out for a Friday night cocktail I recommend dressing down your bold maxi dress with a leather jacket. If you've been invited to a special event, dress up your maxi dress with a luxurious fur coat or a fine bolero jacket.

Avoid chunky heels and big bags for this outfit and opt for a strappy sandal and small clutch.

Whatever the event, keep your accessories simple and let the garments speak for itself.

Kiss me later...(I'm wearing lipstick now)

From left to right, top to bottom:

Chanel (Rouge Coco collection): Madmoiselle
Chanel (Rouge Coco Shine collection): Évasion
Estée Lauder: Woodland Berry (easy to apply)
Chanel (Rouge Allure collection): Passion
Christian Dior: Rose Déclamation

Thin like Gwyneth's or plump like Angelina's, whatever your lip type, find your perfect lipstick and wear it! After all, you are never fully dressed without a [colorful] smile.

If wearing subtle, barely-there make-up is more your thing try Clinique's chubby stick in three neutral colors. Also great for moisturizing your lips.

Remember, just like foundation and blush, lipstick looks different on different lip tones, so don't make a decision by judging a color on someone else.

Bijoux,bijoux

I first read about Ca & Lou in Harper's Bazaar.  A bracelet that was featured in the magazine caught my eye and I immediately Googled the brand to discovery more of their marvels. Ca & Lou is a contemporary brand which uses a very feminine and delicate design.

You can get more information about the jewelry brand and find retailers (in store and online) here

A brooche can make all the difference

Brooches date all the way back to the Bronze Age. The Celts, the Ancient Greeks and the Romans, to name a few, have all used these pieces of jewelry to embellish their outfits.

A brooch can change your outfit entirely. It can complete your look or completely transform it. The best thing about brooches, is the fact that they are so versatile. You can use vintage brooches (Portobello Market is a great place to find them) or modern ones alike and pin them to your coat, on a turtle neck, your trousers or even your hat and bag.

Miroslava Duma, a Russian social-light, philanthropist, blogger and journalist, is no stranger to wearing brooches. Above, she is pictured wearing a beautiful piece from the Chanel, Paris-Moscow 2009 collection.

It's a girl!

Congratulations to Jay-Z and Beyoncé! The couple welcomed their first child, Blue Ivy Carter on Saturday night. Apparently, the musicians rented out the entire 4th floor of an Upper East Side hospital so Beyoncé could give birth in peace. Like many other things these days, it was confirmed via twitter by the couple's pals. RiRi for instance tweeted, "Welcome to the world princess Carter! Love, aunty Rih," how cute

There was much speculation that Beyoncé was not actually pregnant and had a surrogate. I admire and respect the woman greatly but I don't know whether to believe the rumors or not. She's a very career orientated woman and lets face it, being pregnant is time consuming! What are your thoughts and opinions?

Mila for Dior

Mila Kunis will be staring in the new Spring/Summer 2012 Dior ads! How exciting!

Mila's Black Swan co-star, Natalie Portman was the face of Miss Dior Cherie. With her soft, sweet edge I couldn't have thought of a more suitable candidate. Equally sweet and angelic looking, Kunis, 28 will be posing with the iconic Miss Dior bag in the campaigns which will debut worldwide this month. What do you think of Mila as the face of Dior?

More eye candy

I love owning bags as much as the next person, but there are some bags I love just staring at until I get bored. Two reasons (amongst others) I wouldn't purchase every bag I fell in "love" with are
1) lack of space
2) I change my mind every 5 minutes, by the time I bring the purchase back home, I may no longer "love" it

Here are two bags which are not at the top of my "to buy" list but still make it on my "love" list

Alexander Wang Rocco Pale Gold Leather top handle €781.00 at Luisa Via Roma

Louis Vuitton Alma BB from the vernis collection. "Rayures" limited edition at Luis Vuitton
